California Bilingüe offers private Spanish lessons for adult learners of all levels, from true beginner to advanced speaker.
Currently, all of the classes are conducted via Zoom. The teacher and student are on video and share a live document that functions as a virtual whiteboard for class.
Curriculum Designed Specifically for You!
Our individualized format allows each student to receive personal instruction, one-on-one coaching, and custom curriculum designed by their teacher to help them achieve their unique goals. Our masterful instructors meet you where you are, understand your goals, and ask you about your interests to lead you through productive and engaging sessions. In general, your class materials will consist of a textbook, online workbook, and storybook for your level, as well as custom resources provided by your instructor.
Taking Your Spanish Outside the Classroom
When learning a language, it’s important to spend time with it every day. Your teacher will give you homework assignments to encourage you to study Spanish outside of class. The assignments can flex with your schedule and what you feel like you can handle. In general, students should try to spend at least two hours per week outside of class immersing themselves in the language.
Schedule
Students meet with their teacher 2x/week, and choose their schedule from the following days and class times: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; 9am, 10:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:00pm, or 6:30pm. Each session is 80-minutes long. Students may choose a Mon/Wed or Tue/Thur schedule.
Within any given quarter, the student and teacher meet on the same days and times every week. From quarter to quarter, the student may change their schedule.
*Upon approval from administration, advanced students who are looking to polish their Spanish skills may enroll in a 1x/week schedule.
Calendar & Tuition
California Bilingüe’s yearly academic calendar consists of four, 11-week quarters. Students are required to commit for one full quarter at a time. At the beginning of each quarter you have the option to change your weekly class times or take a break.
Quarterly tuition is charged in 3 monthly installments. The first month’s tuition is due upon registration. Thereafter, tuition is charged on the first of each month.
GET STARTED NOW!
You don’t have to wait for the start of a quarter to begin (or resume) your lessons! We accept new student consultations throughout the quarter and arrange a custom start date for each student.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Need to miss class? We get it; life happens! You may cancel up to two classes with a minimum of 24 hours notice and receive 100% reimbursement for that class as an account credit. You can cancel up to two additional classes for credit when you give at least 2 weeks notice. The credit will automatically be applied to the following month’s payment. If a student does not have an upcoming payment, the credit will remain valid for two additional quarters.
To protect our teachers’ time and keep our school schedule running smoothly, we do not offer rescheduling of individual lessons.
Expectations
Our average, successful student completes our program and becomes conversationally confident in two years. Depending on your current level, specific goals, and dedication outside of class, it may take you more or less time.
There is no long-term commitment required, but students should enroll in the program expecting to take classes for multiple quarters.
Our promise to you: Our program is designed to optimize your learning and decrease the overall time you spend becoming proficient in Spanish. With individualized instruction from master teachers, our program gives you swift and lasting results in the most practical, meaningful way possible.

Student Agreement
Our students agree to the following upon registration.
I understand that gaining fluency in a new language requires my commitment and determination. I understand that the knowledge I get out of my lessons will be proportional to the time I put in.
I understand that my teacher will build my curriculum based on information I give them about my life, goals and interests. The amount of homework will be commensurate with my time commitments and constraints. I understand I am meant to bring my whole self to class, and be open to an engaging learning experience.
I am responsible for purchasing my own materials, which generally consist of a textbook and storybook appropriate for my level.
I understand that I can change teachers. If, after at least two weeks of classes with my instructor, I don’t feel we are an ideal fit, I will send a request to the administration.
My classes will equip me with practical Spanish language skills I can apply immediately to my daily life, and will provide resources to help me build authentic, cross-cultural relationships with Spanish speakers in my community.
My certificate of achievement will be updated on a quarterly basis and can be used to convey my progress to employers, organizations and others. (I can also just hang it on my wall to boost confidence as I go!)
Our method involves bringing together the skills we need to be good communicators in any language; humility, openness, cultural awareness, and a willingness to listen and to be vulnerable in unfamiliar territory. We’ve seen the most success with students who understand this, and are ready to go beyond their comfort zone with the help of California Bilingüe.
